New York–Not all women can afford an elegantly crafted evening gown by Mark Badgley and James Mischka, but they can certainly afford a Mark & James handbag from the designers’ new diffusion line.
The Mark & James label opened with apparel in 2009, then added footwear shortly thereafter. Handbags are the newest accessories classification to the brand, having just launched the first collection.
Franchi, which has been producing evening and day bags under the Badgley Mischka label for the past four years, will license the more contemporary Mark & James line.
The handbags are priced from $150 to $450 retail, and the debut line features faux fur in intricate patterns, sleekly trimmed shearling or canvas trimmed with leather, as well as colorful Peruvian knits.
