Somerville, NJ–Jan Cory has been appointed senior vice president of domestic sales, for Viva International Group.
In her new role, Cory will oversee both the U.S. and Canadian sales forces, reporting to Viva President Frank Rescigna. Reporting to Cory will be Robert Dunn, Viva’s director of east coast sales; Kelly O’Grady, director of west coast sales; William Munch, general manager, Viva Retail Sun Division; and Don Fatula, manager of corporate accounts.
“Critical to our success in sales is excellence in strategic planning and the development of a solid collaboration of partnerships across our organization,” said Rescigna. “Jan has a proven track record in these areas in her more than 30 years of achievement and leadership in premium brand retail consumer products.
Cory joins Viva from Luxottica where she recently lead the optical sales team as vice president of independents and sun specialty, including creating new customer-centric strategies, which lead to the 2010 sales force transformation. Previously, she was vice president of department stores and special markets. Prior to her tenure at Luxottica, she was vice president of sales for the U.S and Canada for Grosse Jewels.
Deckers Taps Urban Outfitters’ Stephen Murray as Chief for Europe, Middle East, Africa
Goleta, CA–Deckers Outdoor Corporation named Stephen Murray as president of Europe, Middle East and Africa, overseeing subsidiary and distributor businesses which include the Ugg Australia, Teva, Tsubo and Simple Shoes brands.
Murray begins his new role on 1 June, and joins the Deckers management team from Urban Outfitters where he has served as the global president since April 2010.
Prior to this he was the president of VF Action Sports Coalition, responsible for the Vans and Reef brands, and was the president of Vans from July 2004 to January 2009 prior to its acquisition by VF.

Destination Maternity Appoints Chris Daniel as President
Philadelphia–Destination Apparel appointed ex-Torrid executive Chris Daniel as the company’s new president, effective June 1.
Daniel, who will report to Ed Krell, ceo, will be responsible for all merchandising, design, marketing, visual, sourcing and branding functions of the company.
He has more than 20 years of women’s apparel merchandising experience, including a seven-year stint at plus-sized retailer Torrid, where he was most recently president.
Daniel has also worked at Mervyn’s, Structure, Charming Shoppes and Dayton-Hudson.
“Chris has significant experience leading women’s fashion apparel brands and has had great experience in serving a niche customer demographic in a specialty retailing environment through his Torrid leadership position,” said Krell, who will step down as temporary president.
Express Adds Boards Members
Columbus–Express, Inc., announced appointments to its board of directors: Sam Duncan, previous chairman and ceo of Office Max, and Josh Olshansky, managing director of Golden Gate Capital, have been appointed to the board, effective April 23.
