Neue Galerie Honors “Golden Boy” Gustav Klimt

New York—Happy Birthday Gustav Klimt! You look pretty good for 150, and may we add, your gilted graphic swirls and angular shapes are still in fashion!

Case in point: jewelry company Freywille Pur Art (below), which pays homage to various European artists, recently came out with its own Klimt homage (not surprising, since they both hail from Vienna, Austria).

And as gold metallics gilted the fall runways, what better time to view Klimt’s golden works, layered with actual gold leaf? Later this month, be sure to swing by the Neue Galerie in New York, which is staging a comprehensive exhibition of Klimt’s works.

“Gustav Klimt: 150th Anniversary Celebration” runs through August 27.

And you don’t want to miss this 1907 portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer, which the museum acquired for $135 million. Definitely worth more than its weight in gold!

To see jewelry by Freywille, visit one of their boutiques in New York, California (Rodeo Drive) or Vancouver.
