Item of the Day

There’s no shortage of message-inscribed pendants out there, but as the public continues to clamor for every shred of celebrity misbehavior and New York magazine just ran a cover story on scandals, we thought this was timely.

This “Pocket Change” collection by designer Alisa Michelle features etched coins from around the world (none are from America, sorry lucky penny), each with a saying that’s  either sentimental, snarky or inspirational. All are damaged coins that come from vending machines around the world that are saved before being melted down into scrap. Some are inscribed on one side, others on both.

Retails range from around $50 up to $135, depending on what chain is used and how many coins/charms there are. Fancy yourself a philosopher/poet? The company can customize messages as well.
