Hoffman Estates, IL—The British are coming again—to Sears. Only a week after Sears announced its agreement with French Connection UK for an exclusive apparel and accessories collection called UK Style by French Connection, a license deal with Li & Fung’s U.S. division, the retailer revealed Wednesday that will partner with UK’s NEXT.
The collection, which includes apparel, footwear and accessories, is being featured for sale only on Sears.com. Although new to the United States, NEXT has more than 650 stores world wide and is Europe’s biggest and most successful online fashion e-tailer.
“At Sears.com, we are always looking to expand and evolve our customer experience while also delivering popular items and on-trend fashions to customers. NEXT gives customers both style and affordability, so they don’t have to choose between the two,” said Imran Jooma, president of e-commerce at Sears Holdings, Sears’ parent. Hundreds of NEXT merchandise including dresses, shoes, lingerie, suits and accessories will be available on Sears.com under the terms of the new deal.
The NEXT brand expansion is the latest move by Sears to recapture momentum in its fashion categories as other major department store chains have developed exclusive brand offerings. The Sears.com exclusive U.S. partnership with NEXT apparel reflects Sears’ commitment to building an expanded portfolio of iconic apparel brands, Jooma said. Sears’ portfolio also includes exclusive brands such as BONGO and Rebecca BonBon.
