If having the same vision is the basis for a successful fashion license, then this one’s off to a good start.

The two edgy design houses (Parisian-based Maison Martin Margiela and British Cutler + Gross Group) have teamed up for an eyewear license, called Line 8.

The sunwear collection consists of two lines: “Anatomic,” which envelops and conforms to the face, and “Wrong Size,” where the lenses seem to be from another pair of glasses and don’t truly “fit the frames.” All frames are hand-made in Italy.

Maison Martin Margiela has done sunwear before–fron super-futuristic wraps to funky sun shields. The license with Cutler and Gross is a more wearable collection, and it will be unveiled in its entirety at Silmo in Paris.
