Jewelry Designer Daniel Espinosa Launches Handbags

Taxco, Mexico—Why wear your jewelry when you can clutch it in your hand?

After making a name for himself in the jewelry industry with his daring designs, Mexican designer Daniel Espinosa is taking on a whole new territory: clutch handbags.

Drawing inspiration from his native Mexican culture, Espinosa’s jewelry has gained recognition with its animal imagery and geometric shapes, plus traditional and nontraditional materials (think recycled glass from an old television screen). Espinosa, who has designed jewelry for the past 24 years, now carries that jewelry expertise into a brand new line of clutches.

“The clutches reflect Espinosa’s natural evolution from jewelry into a new classification,” says a company spokesperson. “He has taken the creative seal of his classic collections and translated his essence into beautiful accessories—aptly called Jewel Clutches.”

The new line of clutches stays true to Espinosa’s style through sleek streamlined shapes embellished with rich detail including several colors of Austrian crystal and semiprecious stones (jade, rose quartz, geodes, seashells, moonstones and more). Some clutches also play with animal and tribal prints, maintaining the theme of vibrancy and wildness of Espinosa’s inspirational country.

Retails range from $145 to $250.
