Marchon Rolls Out Eco-Friendly Eyewear Cases

Melville, NY—Like the best poker players, Marchon Eyewear “knows when to hold ‘em, when to fold ‘em and when to walk away”…from the traditional clamshell eyeglass cases, that is.

Starting with its spring collection, the eyewear giant is be shipping out a new foldable, nylon case with all its house brands that is not only versatile but will help the company reduce its carbon footprint.

The simple, effective design of each case will reduce carbon emissions caused by transportation, production and design, the company said this week.

“The design of our new house brands’ case will result in significantly reduced carbon emissions, said Claudio Gottardi, president/ceo. “Marchon ships millions of frames and sunglasses every year and with this new case designs, we can expect to save significant energy, directly benefitting the environment.”

The foldable case collapses to approximately one-tenth the volume of the average eyewear case when shipping. (Not to mention how convenient it will be to store a sunglass case inside a handbag).

Marchon plans to expand the new eco-friendly case program selectively to its designer brand portfolio, too.
