Beverly Hills–Chris Aire, the Los Angeles based jewelry designer known as “The Ice Man,” unveiled his Hollywood Glamour Collection last week, a collection of more than 75 limited edition fine jewelry made from Nigerian gold and gemstones. Hosted by Cedric the Entertainer and actor Adrien Brody, the invitation-only event which featured a runway show took place at the Crystal Ballroom at the Beverly Hills Hotel in partnership with the Nigeria Ministry of Mines and Steels.
“This collection was inspired by the Hollywood glamour of the 1930s and ’40s,” says Aire. “It also pays homage to my beautiful homeland, featuring semiprecious stones farmed in various regions of Nigeria with diamond accents. Aire says he hopes his partnership with the Nigeria Ministry would bring more attention to his homeland country’s resources and stimulate investments and jobs there. “All of the materials in my new collection (retails $500 to $45,000) were mined adhering to the highest standard world labor laws.”
