Item of the Day

Globetrotting travelers that we are, nothing makes us happier than hearing stories about designers who get their Big Idea while visiting exotic places abroad.

Inspiration hits in many ways, and we love seeing the results. Leah Ketcham, the co-founder and designer of Krickette by Krkt, was highly influenced by India’s vibrant culture and spirited colors from a trip she took there in 2009. The name “Krickette” aka “KRKT” was born out of that inspirational trip.

In case you haven’t experienced India yourself, cricket is played every day in the parks around this vibrant and cross-cultural country, not only by World Cup winning pros but also by locals in the same communities where Krickette’s products are made.

The designer put a creative spin on the name “cricket,” giving it feminine touch, and these wristlet clutches bear this out. Mixing  colorful silk kantha fabrics with buttery contrast leather flap pinched with a slice of natural agate, the bags are as colorful as the country that inspired them.
