Seiko “Goes Red” in Fight Against Heart Disease in Women

Just in time for Valentine's Day: Seiko's solar-powered, special edition Tressia watch. Suggested retail: $295

Mahwah, NJ—With the introduction of a special edition “Go Red” Solar Tressia watch, Seiko Corp. of America hopes to get to the heart of a problem afflicting millions of women: heart disease.

In the effort to prevent the No. 1 killer of women, Seiko joined forces with the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement and is offering an exclusive “Go Red” style in its solar-powered Tressia watch line.

The Go Red Tressia, which retails for $295, is adorned with Swarovski crystals and has a black IP finish with a specially engraved case back. For every Go Red Tressia sold through March 1, 2012, Seiko will donate $15 to the American Heart Association for a minimum donation of $100,000.

‘A Cause Close to Our Hearts’

“We are thrilled to support the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women movement with a stunning ladies’ watch that we can be proud of,” said Ken Hagiwara, Seiko’s president/ceo in the United States. “The fight against heart disease in women is a cause that many of us hold close to our hearts. Go Red For Women’s dedication to finding a solution makes us honored to play a special role in helping create awareness. We look forward to continuing our support of the American Heart Association.”

Added William Roach Jr, chairman of the American Heart Association: “This is an exciting opportunity for Seiko to reach consumers who can join in contributing funds needed for life-saving research.”
