New York–Come this winter, thousands of tiny toes will be warmer courtesy of United Legwear Company, which recently pledged to donate 100,000 pairs of new socks to Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc. (K.I.D.S.).
The 100,000 pair of socks will be distributed over the course of the year to several of the nearly 1,000 social service agencies K.I.D.S. partners with, according to Issac Ash, ceo at United Legwear.
The socks will be particularly useful during the winter months when many children wear old, badly fitting, and often no socks at all.
“We are so grateful to Isaac Ash and United Legwear for their extremely generous and much needed contribution,” said Janice Weinman, K.I.D.S.’ president. “There is currently a mounting need for new product to help the increasing number of poor and extraordinary number of families devastated by natural disaster this year. And more than any other products, families struggling to make ends meet and put their lives together require underwear and socks.”
Founded by Ash, United Legwear Company, LLC is a leading global manufacturer of socks and underwear for toddlers to teens and adults. United Legwear’s portfolio of brands include Happy Socks, Puma, BabyLegs, Sox & Co., and Skechers, among others.
