2012 New York Market Week Dates Announced

New York—Whether you’ve got the most high-tech digital icalendar or an old-fashioned paper-and-pen Filofax, here are some dates that demand priority entry.

2012 Market Dates as as follows:

• January 9-13

•March 5-9

• May 7-11

• August 6-10

• November 5-9

The dates are compiled each year by the Fashion Accessories Shippers Association (FASA) together with Accessories Magazine, after much deliberation and discussions with major department stores, industry manufacturers and specialty stores.

“We are proud to come up with the most viable Market dates to serve the industry as a whole,” says Sara Mayes, president of FASA, the trade organization of the accessories industry, as well as Gemini Shippers Association.

“The goal of the Market Weeks is to keep the industry together and eliminate fragmented market weeks in the city,” says Lorrie Frost, Publisher of Accessories Magazine. “However, it’s a complicated process as it’s a very complicated industry, with various accessories classifications and retailers operating on slightly different timetables.”

That said, for core vendors serving department stores looking to shop in February and meet with manufacturers, those dates will be from January 30 to February 2.
