Gucci will need some sunglasses to hide the glare of those 90 birthday candles!
The luxury brand just launched its special-edition 1921 sunglasses to celebrate its 90th anniversary, when Gucci was founded in Florence, Italy by Guccio Gucci.
The sunglasses, manufactured by Safilo Group, are completely covered in natural leather and feature an 18-karat gold plaque on the left temple engraved with G. GUCCI Firenze 1921.
Available in three colors—cherry, beige and brown—the sunglasses are packaged in an authentic leather case as well.
Gucci 1921 styles will retail for $1,390, and will debut at Gucci boutiques and select Solstice Sunglass Boutiques.
Gucci is collaborating with other companies, too, for its anniversary. Set to debut during New York Fashion Week and on Fashion’s Night Out, Sept. 8, is the new Fiat 500 by Gucci, limited-edition versions of the Fiat 500 and 500 Cabrio that have been customized by Gucci creative director Frida Giannini.
