Remember when that movie theme used to instill fear in beachgoers? As it happens, the New England coast has been inundated with Great White sharks (of the “Jaws” type) who apparently are following schools of seals.
This time, however, the Great Whites—which actually seldom attack swimmers— have become a tourist attraction, with all kinds of shark-related merchandise flying off store shelves.
K. Bell was prepared with these “Wide Mouth” shark socks in which Great Whites appear to be swallowing up the wearers leg (“Jaws” style).
Even if you aren’t located near Cape Cod beaches, there’s plenty of time this summer to celebrate the toothy fishes. Shark Week begins on TV August 10.
